It is learnt that MCA president Ravi Savant will speak to the Thackeray family to get their consent on the proposed honour before arriving at a final decision. The MCA managing committee met on Tuesday.
With regards to the action against Prof Ratnakar Shetty for his black marketing allegation of India-Pakistan T20 (in Ahmedabad) tickets against the Mumbai Cricket Association’s office bearers, the managing committee decided to call Shetty to view the recording of his remarks made during the Annual General Meeting.
Shetty, a former MCA treasurer and vice-president, had claimed that an association office bearer may have been involved in black marketing of 150 tickets of India-Pakistan T20I in Ahmedabad last year.
He later refuted the charge in his reply to the show cause notice to the association. An MCA official said: “Shetty wanted to see the recording. He will be called for it in a week’s time.”
It is learnt that a five-year ban will be imposed on Shetty if things don’t go his way in the issue. u00a0
