The association has been asked to pay up Rs 51.20 crore as tax. As per a circular sent out to managing committee members, “activities carried on by the Association particularly with reference to MCA Recreation Centre at BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) are not eligible for exemption under section 11 as ‘charitable’”. The tribunal upheld the cancellation of MCA’s tax registration as a charitable association. MiD DAY was first to report on MCA’s tax liabilities in its March 14 edition. u00a0
