Rajkot, Vizag, Pune, Dharamsala, Ranchi and Indore upgraded as Test centres in November, will host five-day matches for the first time, BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke said in a statement earlier today.
One of the three Tests between India and New Zealand will be played at the Holkar Stadium.
"We have met the international standards and that is why a Test match between Indian and New Zealand is being played at Holkar Stadium. We are proud of it. It is like dream come true," said Sanjay Jagdale, president of MPCA, reacting to the announcement.
"Indore has a rich cricket heritage. We have ample facilities for hosting international Test matches. We are further enriching the facilities and infrastructure for such matches," he added.
Holkar Stadium had been a happy hunting ground for team India. Four ODIs have been played at the stadium, all won by the home team.
India beat South Africa by 22 runs in the last ODI played here on October 14, 2015.
