AB de Villiers, one of the leading batsmen in the Indian Premier League, is the man the Delhi Daredevils will look to when they meet the Deccan Chargers at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead today.

The 25-year-old South African is enjoying every bit of the IPL because it is being played on home soil and the fact that he is made to bat the way he wants to.

"There's no pressure on me and being at home makes it even easier for me as I get to concentrate on the simple things while I bat," De Villiers said soon after arriving in Durban yesterday.

"I have been in good nick and have capitalised on the good starts that I've had to help the Daredevils to get to the top of the table.

"We are a good side make no mistake and we build on the momentum we create at each game. That's the way a successful side wins and we are looking to make the semi-finals and going beyond that."

Though the Daredevils are in pole position, the Chargers are by no means pushovers. Inconsistency has been their biggest problem. After a runaway four-game burst of wins at the start of the IPL, they have stuttered and played in short bursts.

De Villiers believes they will offer the stiffest opposition. "They are a compact unit and if they are given any leeway they will drive through it to garner a win," he said.

He says: "There's very little between the teams in the IPL. Everyone tries to work on the weaknesses of the other teams and that's one of the reasons why the competition has been so fierce so far," he said.
