The meeting between the top brass of Sri Lanka Cricket and Board of Control for Cricket in India scheduled to take place today in Chennai has been put off due to pressing engagements of SLC officials, reported PTI. Thus, the uncertainty over Indian players' participation in Sri Lankan Premier League will continue. SLC chairman DS de Silva and secretary Nishantha Ranatunga were to meet BCCI officials today to sort out the issue.
But Sri Lanka sports minister Mahindanda Aluthgamage said the meeting has been put off. "The meeting between SLC and BCCI won't take place as scheduled. We have an urgent meeting in the Parliament tomorrow, so they won't be able to travel to India tomorrow.
But they (SLC) are talking to them (BCCI) on phone. We are still trying to negotiate and get the (Indian) players back," Aluthgamage said.
