A confident Mumbai Indians late Tuesday thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine wickets in the fourth edition of the T20 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in this tech hub.

A confident Mumbai Indians late Tuesday thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine wickets in the fourth edition of the T20 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in this tech hub.

Set to score 141 in the stipulated 20 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 143 in 18.3 overs, with skipper Sachin Tendulkar on 55 and Ambatti Rayadu on 63 at the crease.

Playing on the home turf, RCB were able to score a modest 140 in 20 overs for the loss of four wickets.


After losing Mayank Agarwal to the very first ball, a superb delivery from Lasith Mahalinga, for a duck, Royal Challengers put up a modest total of 140 for the loss of four wickets, with Tilakaratne Dilshan on 59 and Saurabh Tiwary on 16 at the crease.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and elected to field.
