While some former and current cricketers have demanded a pardon for Pakistan cricket as a whole, some of the Test playing nations' cricket boards have asked the PCB to clear the mess, The Nation reports.
According to reports, quite a number of cricketers and officials do not want a ban on Pakistan cricket but want stern action against the culprits.
The message was given to the PCB in the ICC executive Board meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, as the reaction to match-fixing came from five Test-playing boards that seem to be pushing Pakistan to isolation.
Reports suggested that like terrorism, India is trying to cause yet another isolation for Pakistan in its most popular sport, and though it was not clear as yet what the boards' demand are but it was clear that they wanted Pakistan to meet certain criteria and so, they had united with India thus fuelling the rumours that it was part of a wider plan orchestrated by the arch-rival nation, the paper said.
The ICC executive committee members' reaction has come at a time when England has already indicated that Pakistan would have to find other venues for its home series.
On the other hand, Pakistan cricket is likely to get another setback, with reports indicating that New Zealand Cricket is looking for a team other than Pakistan for their home series.
