"We expected Pawar to announce his decision, but we were surprised that he didn't bring it up. Instead, he thanked the club secretaries for their co-operation to host the World Cup," said a club secretary, who attended the meeting.
MCA vice-president Vilasrao Deshmukh also sat on the dais alongwith a few MCA managing committee members. Former Test captain Dilip Vengsarkar, the MCA's vice-president, has already announced his decision to contest for the post of president. "Pawar gave one the impression that there is some level of uncertainty over his decision to contest," the club secretary added.
