Zimbabwe's Elton Chigumbura, the first international captain to lead a team in Pak post '09 attack, allays security fears before today's Independence Cup

Zimbabwe's Elton Chigumbura was the last international captain who visited Pakistan post 2009 terror attacks.
Though no player from his country is a playing member of the World XI team against Pakistan this week except Andy Flower who is a coach, Chigumbura will be following the matches with interest. He said: "I just love watching other teams play and will follow the proceedings in Pakistan. I have been there twice both trips were good. People there love their cricket and I enjoyed it."
Zimbabwe were the first team to play in Pakistan after the Sri Lankan bus was attacked by terrorists in Lahore, but the African players had no issues in 2015.
"Pakistan was safe, the security was good and they did a good job," Chigumbura remarked. Pakistan won the three-match series 2-0 with the final rain-marred ODI ending in a no-result. All their matches were held in Lahore.
"We didn't move cities. We were in one town and there was a mall where we stayed so it was okay. Those who wanted to go shopping just went to the mall," he added.
