RCB players had come out at the Chinnaswamy Stadium ground after their captain Daniel Vettori opted to bowl but the delay was long enough for them to return to the dressing room.
Organisers said that a bag placed on the advertisement hoardings which had electric wires in them led to a small fire due to short-circuiting. Karnataka State Cricket Association President and former India captain Anil Kumble and RCB owner Vijay Mallya were seen on the ground as the match could not be started on time.
