Cape Cobras, the champion side in South Africa's domestic Twenty20 competition beat Shane Warne's Rajasthan Royals in a pre-Indian Premier League tie by 28 runs here on Saturday night. The second edition of the IPL kicks off on April 18.
Rajasthan were bowled out for 114 in response to Cape Cobras' 142. The man who did the damage was Rory Kleinveldt, who scored 23 off 17 balls before claiming four for 22 with his medium pace.
Led by SA international Justin Ontong, the hosts were helped by Richard Levi's top score of 36 (3x4, 2x6) Warne got a solitary wicket but Gujarat seamer Amit Singh claimed three wickets for the Royals. South African Tyron Henderson who was bought for $650,000 by Rajasthan Royals did not hit the high notes. He could claim only one wicket and was run out for six.
