Rajkot: Forty one-time Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai's preparations for the crucial semi-final tie against Tamil Nadu suffered a setback due to flight delays.
The Mumbai team endured a hectic day on Friday ahead of Sunday's semi-final clash against Tamil Nadu. They left Mumbai at 10.25 am on Thursday and were scheduled to arrive in Rajkot before noon in time for the first practice session at Khandheri, 15km away from the team hotel. But due to unavoidable circumstances, the Mumbai squad departed at 1.30 pm yesterday and arrived only at 3 pm.
Due to the flight delay, Mumbai had to cancel their scheduled practice session and will have to rely on today's training session for their final tune-up ahead of Sunday's semi-final.
However, Tamil Nadu, who won the Ranji Trophy twice (1954-55 and 1987-88), did not waste a single opportunity to prepare well. The Abhinav Mukund-led team trained on Thursday and yesterday.
