The Aditya-Tare led team demolished Saurashtra by an innings and 21 runs inside three days.
The morning session of Day three saw Mumbai post 371 runs in their first innings and take a lead of 136 runs. Saurashtra were then bowled out for a mere 115 in the second innings.

Vengsarkar played a key role in appointing Chandrakant Pandit as coach of the team.
The selection panel is headed by another Mumbai captain, Milind Rege.
