Ranji Trophy: Mumbai players to get Rs 2 crore bonus for title no. 41

Mumbai Cricket Association's vice-president and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar has announced a Rs two crore bonus to the Mumbai team which claimed Ranji Trophy victory No 41 in Pune on Friday

Mumbai Cricket Association's vice-president and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar has announced a Rs two crore bonus to the Mumbai team which claimed Ranji Trophy victory No 41 in Pune on Friday.


The Aditya-Tare led team demolished Saurashtra by an innings and 21 runs inside three days.


The morning session of Day three saw Mumbai post 371 runs in their first innings and take a lead of 136 runs. Saurashtra were then bowled out for a mere 115 in the second innings.

“It is a great win and a fantastic team effort. My heartiest congratulations to the entire team, support staff, members of the managing committee, members of the Cricket Improvement Committee and each and every cricket-loving Mumbaikar,” said Vengsarkar.

Vengsarkar played a key role in appointing Chandrakant Pandit as coach of the team. 

The selection panel is headed by another Mumbai captain, Milind Rege.
