Mumbai's Suryakumar Yadav, who missed out on a ton in both innings against Uttar Pradesh, said that a good attitude will help his side towards an outright victory on the final day of the ongoing Ranji Trophy Group ‘A’ match today. The equation is pretty simple.
Mumbai needs nine wickets while UP require 252 runs to win. Suryakumar (90), Shardul Thakur (48) and Abhishek Nayar (39) helped Mumbai post 295 runs yesterday. At stumps on Day Three, UP were 43-1.
“I think it’s going to be a cracker of a game. Mumbai has a history of winning such games in the past as well. It will be a test of character for both teams. A good attitude will show who gets to win. Who plays well takes the game,” Suryakumar told mid-day over the phone from Mysore.
The former Mumbai skipper expects a combined effort from Mumbai’s bowling unit.
“Day Four is always a tricky day. It’s going to be a game of patience for both teams. A complete bowling unit will have to put their heart into the match, equally supported by all the players on the field,” Suryakumar added.
