Ravindra Jadeja is waiting to take a fifer in the ongoing second Test match between India and South Africa.
A five-wicket haul may help his team get out of a tricky situation and also silence his critics, who feel his left-arm spin is not suited for Test matches away from India.

“Some people feel I am not effective abroad. I would like to take one more wicket and hit back at them,” said Jadeja, who ended Day Three of the Test with figures of four for 87.

Jadeja’s success has led to the question as to whether skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni erred in not including him in his team for the opening Test at Johannesburg where regular off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin went wicketless in 42 overs.
Former India captain Ravi Shastri reckoned Dhoni made no mistake in Johannesburg by picking Ashwin, who enjoyed success in the last home series India played — against the West Indies in November. “How could Dhoni drop Ashwin? He performed well at home. We are playing in New Zealand next and I am sure Jadeja will figure in that Test series,” said Shastri.
