Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar has issued a clarion call to help families hit by torrential rain in Kerala. Many districts in the coastal state are grappling with severe flood situation. Tendulkar took to Twitter yesterday and asked to donate to the Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (CMDRM).

"Prayers are always good but in times of dire need and suffering we all can do more. Right now the victims and families of the #KeralaFloods need our help. Let's show them that we #StandWithKerala. Even a small contribution to Kerala's #CMDRF would go a long way. @CMOKerala," he wrote.

Sachin Tendulkar is also the owner of Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League and has a house in Cochin, where he spends quite a lot of time post-retirement from cricket.
