Tendulkar took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the airline's services. Here's what he tweeted:

Soon after his tweet, British Airways asked the legend to provide his full name and details.

Asking Sachin Tendulkar for his full name gave an opportunity to the Twitterati to make fun of the airline and they did what they are best known for, trolling, making 'British Airways' the top trending topic on Twitter in India.

Here are some of the funniest reactions:

Tendulkar is currently touring America as part of the Cricket All Stars T20 series, involving retired legendary international cricketers in a bid to promote the sport in the country.

After Tendulkar's Sachin Blasters lost to Aussie spin legend Shane Warne's team Warne’s Warriors in New York and Houstan, the 42-year-old was on his way to Los Angeles to play the third and final match on Saturday.

Meanwhile, British Airways apologised for the inconvenience caused to Tendulkar's family members.

"We are very sorry for the inconvenience that has been caused to our customers recent travel plans. We are directly in contact with our customer to resolve the issue," BA spokesperson said in a statement.

As regards the airline asking for Tendulkar's details, it said, "To allow for the social teams to quickly resolve an issue they require the details of the person flying which aren't always the same as the person tweeting."

Asked about the baggage's whereabouts, the airline spokesperson said, "The customer has all their bags."
