Batting icon Sachin Tendulkar charged up the Mumbai squad as the 41-time Ranji Trophy champions gear up for their quarters against Hyderabad to be played in Raipur from December 23-27.
The former India and Mumbai skipper was present at the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Bandra-Kurla complex ground for the entire duration of the team's net session along with head coach Chandrakant Pandit and chief selector Milind Rege. Later, he gave a pep talk to the entire team and also to individual players.
'Overcome pressure'
During his interaction with the team, Tendulkar touched on two major issues — frequent injuries and form of the opening pair which have been hampering Mumbai's performance this season and also presented few solutions to overcome it. "The team has faced similar problems on earlier occasions, but we never played under any pressure because of these issues. On the contrary, we used to set new challenges. Don't think about these problems, accept these challenges and overcome them," is what Tendulkar is beleived to have told the team.
Surya, Shardul get vital tips
"He spent almost three and a half hours watching the team train. He later spoke to Suryakumar Yadav about his batting technique and hadwords for wisdom for Aditya Tare. He also spoke at length with the pace-bowling duo of Shardul Thakur and Tushar Deshpande," a source said.
