Sarfaraz Khan, the former world record holder for having scored the highest runs in an inter-school match, was yesterday booted out of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) specialised camp for U-16 cricketers at the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) indoor academy at the Bandra-Kurla Complex
The Kurla lad was removed from the camp on disciplinary grounds, it is learnt. The authorities allege that Sarfaraz often “misbehaved in the camp; would disobey the coaches’ instructions and purposely play the pull shot against their orders.”
Chairman of the MCA indoor academy, Lalchand Rajput, however refused to comment on the issue and Anil Joshi, the academy’s manager, did not respond to phone calls.
