The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI's) national senior and junior selection panel are set for a mid-term hike.
The BCCI's Finance Committee, which met in Mumbai yesterday, has proposed a 60 per cent and 33 per cent hike to senior and junior selectors, respectively. A BCCI insider told MiD DAY that the selectors' annual compensation will be revised from January 1, 2010. "This mid-term hike is proposed as a reward for the performance of the selectors," the insider said.
Once the decision will be ratified by the Working Committee today, each of the five senior selectors will earn to Rs 40 lakh per year instead of the existing Rs 25 lakh. Their junior counterparts will earn 20 lakh per annum instead of Rs 15 lakh.
