Afridi told reporters in Lahore at the national training camp that the PCB should instead try to focus on inviting other teams to tour Pakistan.
"I don't think we need to push so much to play India. I don't know why we are after them to play the series again and again. If they don't want to play why should we show that we are keen to play them," Afridi said.
Butt breaks down
Meanwhile, Pakistan's disgraced cricketer Salman Butt has tendered a personal apology to Afridi when they crossed paths at the national cricket academy.
According to eye witness accounts Butt, who was the Test captain in England in 2010 when the spot fixing scandal broke out, on Thursday approached Afridi at the NCA where the Pakistan squad bound for Zimbabwe is presently training.
"Butt went up to Afridi in the presence of some other players and with tears in his eyes apologised to him," one witness said.
