For some, saving goals comes as easy as scoring them. St Francis D'Assisi (Borivali) student Arbaaz Shaikh is one of them.
For some, saving goals comes as easy as scoring them. St Francis D'Assisi (Borivali) student Arbaaz Shaikh is one of them.
The 11-year-old first scored a goal during regulation time to put his side in a wining position against Bandra's St Stanislaus school. But later when the opposition drew parity, Arbaaz not only made his spot kick count during the tie-breaker, but also doubled up as bar tender to come up with a couple of splendid saves to see his team through to the semis in the under-12 category of the NIKE-MSSA inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.
The Borivali side, thanks to Arbaaz's heroics, ended up 4-3 winners at the end of the tie breaker. "I am very happy with my performance and the fact that I helped my team into the semi final is very satisfying," A Jubilant Arbaaz said post-match.
