Three hundred kilograms of bronze will go into preparing the Shane Warne (left) statue at Melbourne Cricket Ground, according to sculptor Louis Laumen. The statue will be erected during the Boxing Day India vs Australia Test match later this year.
"The Warne statue is to be scaled one and a half times life-size or nine feet high so the amount of bronze will be about 300 kgs," said Laumen from Melbourne.
"I would imagine there'll be a number of cricketing greats ufffd past and present ufffdattending the unveiling ceremony on December 26. Of course, I would be delighted to meet Sachin Tendulkar if he is around," Laumen added. Laumen has worked on statues of Sir Donald Bradman, Keith Miller, Bill Ponsford and Dennis Lillee.
