India's opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be missing the first three ODIs in the upcoming 5-match ODI series against Australia that begins on September 17.
Shikhar Dhawan's wife Ayesha is apparently ill and Dhawan has decided to be by her side and attend to her. He requested the BCCI to be released for the first three ODIs against the Aussies. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan's mother, too, felt ill and the batsman had to miss the T20I series against Sri Lanka.
On September 4, Shikhar Dhawan shared a photo with his mother on Twitter, saying that she is recovering well and thanked his fans for their well wishes.

"Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from the team for the first three ODIs of the Paytm Australia tour of India, 2017 to attend to his wife, who is unwell. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has decided not to name any replacement for Dhawan in Indian Cricket Team," the BCCI said in a statement.
Meanwhile, BCCI has released the squad for the first 3 ODIs between India and Australia and have decided not to name a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan.
