Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar said that he was surprised when Michael Vaughan questioned the integrity of VVS Laxman, who the former England skipper felt had vaseline applied on his bat to avoid an edge showing up in Hot Spot on Saturday.
"If I was in Laxman's position, I would asked my lawyer whether I have a case or no. How can you, even hypothetically question someone's credibility," Gavaskar told MiD DAY.
When Vaughan tried to defend himself by asking why don't people appreciate a joke, Gavaskar said: "A joke by questioning someone's credibility?"
Mike Atherton during commentary asked fellow commentator Sanjay Manjrekar as to whether Laxman can be trusted. "Then who," the former batsman shot back.
