All-rounder Akash Parkar attributed his match-winning 82 in Triumph Knights' (TK) thrilling four-wicket win over Sobo Supersonics (SS) in the inaugural T20 Mumbai Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday night to his cool temperament.

Parkar, 23, stitched an unbeaten 130-run partnership with Aditya Dhumal (50*) for the seventh wicket as the duo helped their side chase down the 185-run target even after tottering at 56-6. "I was excited to play my natural game. I told myself that I will bat the entire 20 overs. I played some big shots and that helped, but ultimately it boiled down to my cool temperament at the crease.

We also followed the advice of our mentor Lalchand Rajput and coach Atul Ranade, and then continued to partner each other till the end," he said. Parkar's electrifying 37-ball knock was laced with five hits to the fence and six towering sixes. Meanwhile, Dhumal scored one boundary and four sixes during his 34-ball knock. "When we crossed the 100-run mark, we felt we could chase down the target. We were able to tackle the pressure with ease which was important," Dhumal added.
