The threat by a students association in Hyderabad to disrupt matches of the third edition of the Indian Premier League was just that u2014 a threat.

In fact, Deccan Chargers officials are so buoyed by a support letter issued by Telangana Joint Action Committee, that they have even offered to host Mumbai Indians' matches if the Shiv Sena threatens to disrupt matches because of Australian players in the team.

"The guy who issued this threat has nothing to do with the students union," said a Chargers official.

"We have received a letter from TJAC convener professor Kodanda Ram expressing his solidarity towards our team. In fact, professor Ram has also requested to reconsider the decision to host Deccan Chargers' inaugural match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai."

The TJAC, in a letter to IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi (marked to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and HCA President), has promised to extend all the support for the smooth functioning of the IPL matches in Hyderabad.
