Hyderabad: Seamer M Mohammed grabbed five-for while opener Abhinav Mukund struck 85 as Tamil Nadu beat Services by 7 wickets in a group A match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, here yesterday.

Batting first, Services managed only 192 for 8 in 50 overs with former KKR player Yashpal Singh top scoring with 56. Seamer Mohammed provided his team with crucial breakthroughs as his 5/50 was complemented well by his skipper Ravichandran Ashwin (2/23).
In reply, Tamil Nadu scored the runs in 39.4 overs with Mukund and Baba Aparajith (66 no) adding 138 runs for the second wicket. Both played cautiously as Mukund took 110 balls hitting seven boundaries and Aparajith faced 91 deliveries for his three boundaries.
The duo ran well between the wickets and by the time, Mukund was bowled, Tamil Nadu needed only 42 runs. R Sathish (16) and Vijay Shankar (16 no) hit a few runs as Aparajith anchored the tea m to victory.
