India captain Virat Kohli has 23.2 million followers on Instagram and 25.8 million on Twitter and, according to, a report by HopperHQ.com, Virat Kohli is ninth in a list of athletes, who charge the most money for sponsored posts on the social media app. According to the list, Kohli can demand up to USD 120,000 (approx Rs 82 lakh) to share any sponsored post on social media.


This is a lot more than the world's highest-paid sportsperson - boxer Floyd Mayweather, who demands USD 110,000 (approx Rs 75 lakh per post) who is in 10th place. Football star Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list with USD 750,000 (approx Rs 5 crore) per post.


Virat Kohli is currently in tour with the Indian team in England. After a well-fought T-20 series, which India won 2-1, the English side turned the tables in the ODIs to win the series 2-1. India is playing a three-day tour-match against county side Essex ahead of the five-match Test series beginning in Birmingham on August 1. Virat Kohli warmed up nicely with a half century on the opening day of the match against Essex on Wednesday.
