Team India Test captain Virat Kohli is the toast of the town after his career-best 235 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium during the fourth Test vs England. From cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar to Bollywood celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, every one has praised the 28-year-old after his double century played a major role in India thrashing the visitors by an innings and 36 runs to seal the series on Monday.
Well, a 87-year-old fan of Virat's had a very special 'gift' for the cricketer. The nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar took to Twitter to congratulate the team for their brilliant performance and then dedicated a song for the Delhi lad.
The songtress has time and again praised Kohli. On Monday, the legendary singer congratulated the Indian skipper by dedicating her classic song 'Aakash Ke Us Paar Bhi' to him. The song was sung by the legend herself in the 'Mere Watan Ke Longon' album. The lyrics are by Gulzar.
A staunch Sachin Tendulkar fan, she had once undertaken a fast for him -- in the hope that SRT scored his 100th century in the World Cup final back in 2011.
In one of her interviews, she had revealed that she was also there at Lord's to watch the 1983 World Cup final when Kapil Dev's Devils beat West Indies to lift the Prudential World Cup.
She first praised Team India after their win over England
