Virat Kohli led Team India to an emphatic and historic Test series win when they beat Sri Lanka 3-0 to earn their first series whitewash overseas.


Team India skipper Virat Kohli recently revealed the secret mantra to the Indian cricket team's success.


According to CricketNext, Virat Kohli stated that there is no divide between seniority of players in the team.

In this team, we are more like a bunch of friends playing together rather than a senior or a junior,” said Virat Kohli at the end of the Pallekele Test.

Virat Kohli's Test series win against the Sri Lankan has also seen him pass Mahendra Singh Dhoni's record in Test cricket. Virat Kohli has won seven Tests away in comparison to MS Dhoni's six during his tenure as skipper.

While MS Dhoni's six Test overseas wins comes from 60 matches, Virat Kohli has won seven from just 29 matches so far. Virat Kohli will now target Sourav Ganguly's 11 Test overseas wins in his 49 matches as captain of the Indian cricket team.

India have won 8 test series on the trott and have cemented their place as the top ranked Test team.

India dominated the Sri Lankans as opener Shikhar Dhawan was the leading run scorer with 358 runs while spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged 17 wickets.
