West Indies skipper Darren Sammy was surprised at Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision not to push for a win in the third Test that ended here on Sunday.

Chasing 180 to win, India were 94 for three when Dhoni decided to call off the match with 15 overs left. India had to settle for a draw in the third Test but won the series 1-0.

Dhoni said the wicket at the Windsor Park was tough to bat on and they would have risked losing the Test and would have end up drawing the series.

Sammy, however, was stunned with Dhoni's decision. "I was a bit surprised that India ended their run chase but we will take it. We are very happy with the draw," said the West Indies captain.

Man of the match Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who denied a India win with an unbeatan 116 in the second innings, said it was an honour to become the most capped West Indies player. "The whole series I was getting out in the 20s and 30s, very happy to carry on past the three-figure mark. It's always an honour (becoming the most capped Test cricketer for Windies), just shows what hard work can do for you," he said. ufffd
