Incidentally, Indore was also the first city to have signatures of Wadekar and his teammates on 'Vijay Balla'u00a0-- a gigantic concrete structure of a bat. "It is a proud feeling to have a stand named after you. Indore has always given me these special moments in life to treasure. I am humbled by their gesture," Wadekar told
MiD DAY yesterday.
However, the 70-year-old batsman was hurt that Mumbai has named nothing after him as yet. "It hurts sometimes," he said. "After being a part of the Ranji Trophy team that won 15 years on the trot, there is no stand or tournament named after me," added Wadekar.
