"There are surprises in store for them (Tendulkar, Jayasuriya). But to execute those plans to perfection, each player has to play his part," Simmons said on the eve of their IPL tie against Mumbai Indians here.
"I can't divulge any details as of now. You will come to know when we apply them on ground. All I can say it's an important game," he added.
Currently serving a one-year international ban, Ferozshah Kotla will host its first match of the IPL III season and Simmons gave a thumbs-up to the wicket, saying it will offer much help to the bowlers.
"We have played two practice matches on it and ball is seaming nicely. It's a good track and I don't see any problem with the wicket," he said.
Simmon also threw his weight behind out-of-form batsman Thillakaratne Dilshan and said the Sri Lankan import will soon find his form as there is still a long way to go in this tournament.
"He's been unlucky, I must say. You will soon see him going all guns blazing. His form is not a worry for me," the former South Africa coach said.
Dilshan so far has scored ducks in the two matches that Delhi played against Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals.
On being asked about the performance of young pacers, Simmons seemed to be particularly impressed by Pradeep Sangwan, who he thinks is shaping well as a bowler especially in the shortest format of the game.
"I have been impressed with the way Sangwan is excelling in this format. He is an exciting young gun and if shaped well, will be a big asset," said Simmons, who joined the Delhi Daredevils this year.
Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes said although he doesn't have any special plans for Tendulkar, he will try to bowl as straight as possible. "He (Tendulkar) will be after my bowling, I know. What can I say about any plans," he said. "Best way is to maintain your line and length. Bowl wicket to wicket. Batsman misses and you will get your man," he said.
