Arsene Wenger revealed yesterday that he could have signed a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he came to Arsenal for a trial aged 16.
The Paris St German striker made headlines scoring all four goals — one of which was from a long range overhead kick — in Sweden’s 4-2 win over England on Wednesday.

Wenger said: “He came to visit the training ground but didn’t want to make a trial as he was 16 years old at the time. I wanted to see him in training but it didn't stop him from making a great career. In the end, he chose to go to Ajax Amsterdam. That happens. He’s not the only one in that case.”
