West Indies coach Ottis Gibson yesterday lashed out at International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive Haroon Lorgat for describing the stone-pelting of their team bus by a group of Bangladeshi fans in Dhaka last week as 'minor'.

"I want to remind Lorgat of his responsibility. He has absolutely no idea what we underwent in Dhaka. Are you kidding me," the former Barbados fast bowler said.

The team bus carrying Darren Sammy's side was attacked on Friday by Bangladeshi fans who went berserk after the hosts were shot out for 58, the match lasting just over 31 overs.

A police official later said that the irate fans had mistaken the West Indies team bus for the Bangladeshi team bus, which was also stoned.

Reacting to the incident, Lorgat said, "it was a few individuals who threw pebbles at the bus, and they were pebbles."

Gibson was livid with the ICC Chief Executive's response.

"Lorgat is in no position to say that there were pebbles. Are you telling me that pebbles can create big cracks through windows? It was a ridiculous assessment of the situation, we totally condemn it. Luckily, no player suffered injury. Most of us ducked on the floor of the bus. We have all recovered from it now, and are just looking forward to playing Ireland.

"The morale in the camp is high and the boys have moved on. However, I hope that such a thing (stone-pelting) never happens again, not just to us but anyone else."
