Hanif's wife Shamshad organised the party at their residence in Karachi where in four Pakistani skippers — Misbah Ul Haq, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez — attended the party.
Hanif's daughter Seema Syed, who flew down from London for the special occasion, gifted her father an expensive high-end perfume.
However, what impressed Hanif the most was the specially-designed cake, a major goof-up by the cake-maker notwithstanding. "Yes, the cake was ordered by my daughter.

It resembled a green pitch with a bat, ball and a pair of pads. The cake also had my highest scores in Test and first-class (499 runs for Karachi vs Bhawalpur in 1959) cricket.
It's 337 not 377
"Unfortunately, the cake-maker wrote 377 instead of 337 which is my highest Test score (against West Indies at Bridgetown in 1958)," Hanif said.
