Will Krishnamachari Srikkanth & Co insist on skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni resting in the forthcoming opening Test (November 6-10) of the series against the West Indies
Will Krishnamachari Srikkanth & Co insist on skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni resting in the forthcoming opening Test (November 6-10) of the series against the West Indies? Even though it will be a tough call to take today, this cannot be ruled out considering the need for Dhoni to have a breather.
After the arduous and unsuccessful tour of England, Dhoni even played the Champions League T20 for Chennai Super Kings before leading India in the five-match one-day series in which the hosts whitewashed England
5-0.

However, Dhoni said here recently that he can cope well without a break.
If the skipper does not figure in the Test, Virender Sehwag or Gautam Gambhir will lead the side. "There is no doubt that the captain will do with some rest. Plus, his wicketkeeping hasn't been tidy recently, so there is a chance he will be asked to stay away ufffd even for the whole Test series," said a source.
Meanwhile, the first Test squad is likely to include Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Ishant Sharma, who had their share of injury worries on the England tour.
It will be interesting to see whether Harbhajan Singh, who made way for R Ashwin in the one-day team that played England, will earn a recall. There is a school of thought that this is the right time to try out Ashwin in the longer variety of the game. It is learnt that the selectors are seriously looking at the opportunity to blood several youngsters against the West Indies and there is a good possibility of one senior player making way for a young gun in each of the three Tests.
