Johannesburg: West Indies achieved a world record run chase when they beat South Africa by four wickets with four balls to spare in the second Twenty20 international at the Wanderers here on Sunday.

Opener Chris Gayle hit nine fours and seven sixes as he slammed a 41-ball 90 to power the visitors to a 2-0 unbeatable lead in the three-match series.
Gayle was ably assisted by a fine 39-ball 60 from another big-hitter Marlon Samuels, who hit seven fours and two sixes en route.
Earlier, South African captain Faf du Plessis led from the front scoring a 46-ball century to lead the South Africans to a total of 231 for seven after being sent in to bat in the second T20I at the Wanderers.
In ideal batting conditions here, Du Plessis hammered 119 off 56 balls before he was caught in the deep off the last ball of the 19th over. Du Plessis hit five sixes and 11 fours.
West Indies lead the three-match series 2-0 with the third match to be played in Durban on January 14.
