World T20: How India screwed up

Here's a look at how the Men in Blue lost their chance at the World T20 to a series of bad calls

  • There shouldn't be an iota of doubt over the fatigue factor. The IPL has taken its toll for sure. At least now cricket officials should stop talking about having two IPLs a year.
  • Despite being defending champions, Dhoni's team appeared weighed down by sheer magnitude of yesterday's do-or-die match. The hallmark fearlessness of Dhoni's team was lacking yesterday.
  • Suresh Raina flopped and succumbed to the short stuff. Raina has been one of India's leading lights in recent times, but he played into the hands of the English.
  • Dhoni's tactic of promoting a rookie like Ravindra Jadeja up the order ended up making him look stupid. Though Jadeja scored 25, he didn't look just as convincing
as he was with his left-arm spin earlier in the day.
  • Yuvraj Singh was sent at No 5, low if you happen to be your side's most attacking and experienced batting hand.
