Sri Lanka`s Dunith Wellalage has returned home after his father, Suranga, passed away on Thursday, when the spinner was playing the Asia Cup 2025 group stage match against Afghanistan.

The 54-year-old died of heart attack and Wellalage was informed of his father`s demise after the match, following which the spinner left for Colombo on the earliest available flight. So far, his return to Sri Lanka`s Asia Cup 2025 campaign remains uncertain.
