Following the announcement of India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025, former cricketer Madan Lal expressed surprise over the exclusion of young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal from the 15-member lineup.

The squad was unveiled on Tuesday, with Suryakumar Yadav named as captain and Shubman Gill appointed his deputy. Several notable players missed out on selection.

Lal lauded Gill’s recent form, stating he has the potential to become a regular across all three formats.
