In what will be a welcome delight to T20 cricket starved fans across the world, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) – set to get underway on August 18, will be the first major T20 league to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic. The 33-match tournament aired on the Star Sports Network at 7 PM – will be played in Trinidad & Tobago with just two stadiums set to host the entire event. The CPL 2020 – a closed-door event – will see last year’s runners-up Guyana Amazon Warriors lock horns with Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament opener.
