Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has the option of playing for the East Zone team in the upcoming Duleep trophy if he makes himself available for the cricket tournament, an ACA spokesman said, two days after the selection of the team.

The selection committee has decided to inform Dhoni for the second time about the option, Assam Cricket Association sources said. The final team for the East Zone squad was announced here on Saturday without the name of Dhoni as he could not be contacted despite repeated efforts to confirm his availability.
