West Indies captain Chris Gayle has signed up for Western Australia's Retravision Warriors for this year's domestic Twenty20 competition, officials said on Wednesday, hailing a major coup.

The left-hander, who is the world's only international Twenty20 centurion, will play the 'Big Bash' competition between the Windies' Test and one-day series here in November and December.

"With Chris we have secured one of the game's best Twenty20 players," said coach Tom Moody.
