"I am very confident in Buttler as captain": Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum said Test captain Ben Stokes is fine with him extending his tenure and also stated that he is keen to see if the skipper can extend his white-ball career. Stokes retired from ODIs but featured in the 2023 World Cup in India. Earlier, he opted out of the T20 World Cup 2024 to shift his focus to Test cricket

Brendon McCullum said that he is confident about Jos Buttler continuing as England's white-ball captain and also wants him to enjoy the game for the next few years.

After coaching the "Three Lions" Test team, Brendon McCullum will take over the white-ball team as head coach from next month. Ahead of his contract till 2027, his major responsibility will be to bring England back on the winning tracks after they failed to defend the T20 and ODI World Cup titles.
