The ICC World Cup 2023 match between England and Australia is underway in Gujarat at Motera Stadium. Marnus Labuschagne's  71 and Cameron Green's 47 helps Australia to put on a target of 287 runs against their arch-rivals England.


Chris Woakes helped England to get its first breakthrough by dismissing Travis Head for just 11 runs. Later on, He also picked the wicket of veteran batsman David Warner.


Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne stabilized Australia's inning after the early dismissal of openers David Warner and Travis Head. The duo completed their 50-run stand in Liam Livinstone's over. Smith scored 44 runs before getting out in Adil Rashid's over. England's spinner also tricked and picked the wicket of Australia's wicketkeeper Jos Inglis for just three runs.

Mark Wood and Adil Rashid both had two wickets each to their names. The other England players took care of not conceding many runs. 

Marnus Labuschagne entertained the Motera crowd by displaying impressive strokes. He came in to bat when Australia was struggling to score. Labuschagne smashed 71 runs in 83 deliveries including seven fours. The momentum just seemed like shifting towards Australia and Mark Wood dismissed him in the 33rd over's last ball.

Marcus Stoinis who is named as the replacement player for injured Glenn Maxwell entered the ground. Accompanying him was all rounder Cameron Green. He missed his well deserved fifty by just three runs. His innings included of 5 fours. The Aussie's innings collapsed after the wicket of Green. None other batsmen scored huge runs against the English bowlers.
