Will Ravichandran Ashwin get a chance to play in the clash?
Compared to England, India has very little to worry about though they will be missing the all-round services of Hardik Pandya for at least the next couple of games. R Ashwin would likely replace Shardul Thakur on a pitch that is likely to assist the spinners. With Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, adding Ashwin as a third spinner, India will have to choose between Mohammad Siraj and Mohammed Shami. Keeping their performances in mind, making a choice between these two will be a tough call. Mohammed Shami bagged a fifer in the clash against New Zealand.
England is already experiencing the absence of their lead pacer Reece Topley as he is ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023 due to a left index finger injury. Brydon Carse has replaced him in the squad. Mark Wood has been far from his best and will be looking for course correction. However, the spin of the combination of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid could appear as a threat to the in-form Indian batsman.
