KL Rahul played a gritty knock as he scored 38 runs off 31 deliveries. His knock was laced with two boundaries and the same number of maximums. Later, Nitish gave the finishing touches. Facing 11 balls, the right-hander scored an unbeaten 19 runs, with the help of two boundaries

In the first ODI match against Australia, Team India posted a total of 136 runs for the loss of nine wickets at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Initially, the match was cut short to 35 overs due to rain interruption.
Later, when the conditions seemed to be right, the rain interrupted yet again, following which the play was reduced to 26 overs.
