Rishabh Pant was on Thursday 'available to bat as per team requirements' despite fracturing his toe on the opening day of the match, but ruled out of wicket-keeping duties in the ongoing fourth Test against England.
The 27-year-old Pant retired hurt at 37 and went for scans after copping a blow on his right foot while attempting a reverse sweep off England pacer Chris Woakes on Wednesday.
"Rishabh Pant, who sustained an injury to his right foot on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, will not be performing wicket-keeping duties for the remainder of the match. Dhruv Jurel will assume the role of wicket-keeper," the BCCI posted on X.
